Our Story
Growing up, my love for animals and desire to nurture all things furry and cute, really geared my career paths towards animal and pet client care. While attending Penn State University for a degree in Agriculture and Veterinary services, I worked as a vet's assistant at two busy clinics for many years. I learned so much during my time there! Everything from helping with the examinations and surgeries to routine puppy visits. I now treat many of my own animals on my 20 acre farm, just South of Olympia, WA.

I come from a family of DOG LOVERS. My mother and I would spend lots of time volunteering at humane societies/ dog rescues and we owned several different breeds of dogs and mutts throughout my childhood and young adult life. I had hard opinions about dog breeders back then, as my family always opted to adopted our pets from shelters. As much as I loved every single dog we took into our home, I did notice many of them came with undesirable quirks and temperament issues that took a considerable amount of effort to train out of them- sometimes we just had to live around their, 'ehm...issues.
When I moved to my first home as a newly married adult, I was eager to welcome a new dog into our newly established family. However I was super hesitant to bring home just any dog. I wanted to be reassured I would be getting a "good" dog. Knowing the parents had zero aggressive issues and were healthy, friendly dogs was oh so important to me. They are ten to fifteen year commitment! I didn't want a poorly bred dog that would later manifest all sorts of issues for my family. I remembered my time at the veterinary clinic, and recalled working with several dog breeders. I recalled friendly, well tempered animals and healthy pups. So I looked into some quality breeders and what a dream dogs I found! I was able to meet the parents of the puppy we ended up taking home, and I was so pleased with the way they were being raised. These people really loved their dogs, and it was inspiring.
A few kids and a running farm later, I found I needed my own "mama" business. Something to help me feel like I could contribute a bit of joy to the world and do it with my children. I was always fascinated with genetics, and even helped teach a class on the subject, so the idea of breeding dogs I would enjoy and love to share, became more and more interesting to me. I spent several years with my husband researching ethical breeding practices and quality dogs (our family pets!) to breed together to make, what I consider to be the ideal family dog. Non-shedding, genetically diverse/ hardy healthy and most importantly, super friendly dogs that all can enjoy. In lots of fun colors too. Genetics are so fun. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my family a bit, we adore our dogs and love helping others bring home their dream doodle dog too!
